Motorists are experiencing delays on the New England Highway at Blandford following a truck crash overnight.
Shortly after midnight on Friday 22 May, a B‑double truck travelling southbound collided with a guard rail, causing the vehicle to partially leave the roadway and begin leaning over.
The impact pierced the truck’s diesel tanks, resulting in a significant fuel spill across the highway. Emergency services attended the scene, with the 22‑year‑old driver uninjured.
Traffic conditions remain impacted this morning as recovery and clean‑up efforts continue.
Authorities say investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing, with motorists urged to drive to conditions and expect delays.
