NSW Police have charged more than 900 people following a four‑day statewide operation targeting offenders with a history of domestic and family violence.
Operation Amarok XIII ran from Wednesday 13 May to Saturday 16 May 2026 and was aimed at improving safety for victims and the broader community. Police arrested and charged 993 people, executed 299 arrest warrants and laid more than 2,000 charges during the operation.
Officers also conducted thousands of compliance checks on apprehended domestic violence orders, identifying hundreds of breaches. Police seized dozens of firearms and other weapons during firearms prohibition order searches.
As part of the operation, officers from the Hunter Valley Police District charged a 41‑year‑old man following an incident at Singleton Heights. Police allege the man was found hiding in a man‑made hole inside a home on Wakehurst Crescent.
The man was taken to Cessnock Police Station and charged with multiple domestic violence‑related offences, including breaching an apprehended domestic violence order. He was refused bail and faced court on Saturday 16 May.
