Hunter Local Land Services is encouraging primary producers across the region to share their load and seek support during a period of ongoing pressure.
Farmers have been facing challenging conditions, including drought and the rising cost and availability of fuel and fertiliser. Hunter Local Land Services says these factors can affect how people think, make decisions and cope on a day‑to‑day basis.
The organisation is urging producers to take time to check in with themselves, as well as family members, neighbours and others in their community. It says acknowledging pressure early is an important step and that no one needs to manage difficult conditions on their own.
Practical advice for properties is available through the Hunter Local Land Services team, while free and confidential mental health support can be accessed through the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program. Visit www.ramhp.com.au to find support near you.
