Authorities say smoke from the burn may settle over Howes Valley and nearby Garland Valley over the next few days, depending on weather conditions.

Residents are being advised that smoke haze may be visible and is not a cause for alarm while the planned operation is underway.

Emergency services are reminding the community to only call Triple Zero (000) if they see an unattended fire, with planned burns closely monitored by crews.
