The Aberdeen Highland Games is set to celebrate a significant milestone this Saturday, July 4, when Jefferson Park becomes the muster point for the 25th annual gathering of the clans.
The day begins at 9am with a parade of bands and clan representatives, followed by the Massed Band Salute and the Chieftain’s Address, to be delivered by Cam McKellar of Willow Tree.
A full program of events runs throughout the day, including highland and country dancing, pipe band displays, strong man events and the famed kilted dash.
Celebrations extend into the evening with a Pipe Band Quintet competition in Aberdeen, before the weekend concludes on Sunday morning with the Kirkin’ of the Tartan service at St Alban’s Church in Muswellbrook.
Now in its 25th year, the Aberdeen Highland Games has grown into one of the Upper Hunter’s most cherished community events, drawing visitors from across the region to celebrate Scottish heritage and culture.
