A man has been charged over an alleged home invasion and stabbing in the Hunter Valley in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to Grevillea Street, Cliftleigh about 1:20am on Saturday 27 June following reports of a home invasion. Officers from the Hunter Valley Police District arrived to find a 30-year-old man suffering stab wounds. NSW Ambulance paramedics treated him at the scene before he was transported to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition. A 33-year-old woman also present at the home was not physically injured.
A crime scene was established and an investigation commenced. Following inquiries, a 36-year-old man was arrested about 8:25pm at a shopping centre in Cameron Park and taken to Toronto Police Station.
He has been charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, aggravated break and enter and commit a serious indictable offence inflicting actual bodily harm, and knowingly contravening a prohibition in an apprehended violence order.
