Scone Memorial Airport has taken a turn in the spotlight, having been chosen as a filming location for season three of the Australian television series NCIS: Sydney.
The cast and crew visited the Upper Hunter in December 2025, using the airport as the backdrop for a range of high-stakes flying and ground-based scenes featured in the new season.
Upper Hunter Council say the production brought more than cameras to the region, by supporting local businesses and putting the unique landscapes and locations of Upper Hunter Country in front of a national and international audience.
Season three of NCIS: Sydney is now streaming on Paramount+. Viewers are encouraged to keep an eye out for the familiar surrounds of Scone Memorial Airport as the season unfolds.
