Police have located a body during the search for a 31‑year‑old man who went missing from Metford earlier this week. Officers say the body, found on Wednesday, is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be that of the missing man.
He was last seen leaving a home on Hakea Way, Metford, around 6:30pm on Tuesday in a 1997 white Holden Jackaroo. His disappearance was described by police as out of character.
The man was known to frequent areas around Black Hill, Heddon Greta, Kurri Kurri and Maitland. Hunter Valley Police District officers had been conducting inquiries after concerns were raised for his welfare.
A report will now be prepared for the Coroner. Police say investigations are continuing.
