Upper Hunter nursing homes on COVID notice

A ship-up order has been issued to Upper Hunter nursing homes over COVID-19 vaccination rates.

Federal Government stats reveal less than 10 percent of residents at Murravale in Murrurundi have had their booster shot in the past six months.

That rate is 30 to 40 percent for those living at Uniting’s Elizabeth Gates and Alroy House in Singleton.

The Herald reports the warning comes as the Hunter New England Local Health District was dealing with 20 aged-care outbreaks of COVID-19 as at the end of May.
