More Upper Hunter residents are avoiding going to see a doctor when they’re sick because they can’t afford it.
Damning new research conducted by the University of Canberra for the NSW Council of Social Services has found the number of people doing this has increased in our area by almost 100 percent in the past four years.
NCOSS Chief Executive Cara Varian said the figure for seeing a specialist is even worse, at 242 percent.
