A simple online form has been developed for Muswellbrook Shire residents to change their garbage collection arrangements if they want to.
From next week ratepayers will be able to choose if they want to maintain weekly red bin pick-ups, or get another bin.
It comes as councillors unanimously adopted a new hardship policy, which includes costs associated with the changes.

Deputy Mayor Graham McNeil, who chaired the council meeting last night, said the application process will commence on Monday.
