
An alert has been issued following blooms of Green Blue algae along the Hunter River near Glenbawn Damn.
According to the Newcastle Herald, Water NSW has issued a red alert – warning of high levels of potential toxicity.

Testing and monitoring by the authority is underway, however livestock and pets should be kept away until the alert is dropped.
We’re being advised to avoid recreational activities, fishing and drinking the water in the zone.
