The 25m heated pool at Singleton Gym + Swim will close from 9 November so construction can begin on a new enclosure for the facility.
The pool has been operating as a temporary heated outdoor facility in recent months, in line with a Singleton Council resolution that it remain open while a tender for the replacement structure was finalised. The tender was awarded at Council’s August meeting.
The new building will replace the 43-year-old dome structure that was demolished in April because of structural issues. The decision followed consideration of a number of options, including keeping the pool running as an outdoor facility.
Council say they aim to open the new facility in mid August 2027, subject to weather and any other unforeseeable circumstances. Construction will begin as the 50m outdoor pool and splashpad reopen for the summer season.
