Women in the Hunter and surrounding regions studying in non‑traditional trades are being encouraged to apply for the Breaking the Barriers scholarship, now open through Women’s Network Hunter.
The $1,000 scholarship aims to support female students, apprentices and trainees working toward careers in trades where women remain significantly underrepresented. To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled with a Registered Training Organisation, be currently studying, and have completed at least one year of their course.
The scholarship is open to those who live or study in the Cessnock, Dungog, Maitland, Mid Coast, Muswellbrook, Singleton or Upper Hunter council areas.
Women’s Network Hunter says the funding is designed to help local women progress their training and achieve their career aspirations in fields traditionally dominated by men.
Applications close on Sunday 12 April. The online form is available on the Women’s Network Hunter website.
