A mechanics business has been destroyed in a fire in Aberdeen.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Macqueen Street around 10:50am today (Thursday September 3), to reports of a building alight.
25 firefighters in six trucks attended the scene, which caused the New England Highway to be closed for at least three hours.
The fire started at the mechanics, before spreading to the adjoining take away shop and rear residence.
A Fire and Rescue spokesperson say the mechanics building has been destroyed by the fire, and the adjoining business damaged. Thankfully there are no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is at this stage unkown, and is now under police investigation.
The New England Highway at Macqueen Street has reopened under stop/slow traffic control at Aberdeen, as emergency services remain on the site.
