M&M’s has long expanded far beyond its classic handful of flavours, adding everything from pretzel and pumpkin pie to Banana Nut Bread and, closer to home, the locally developed Crunchy Cookie already stocked at Coles, Woolworths and independent stores across Australia.
Now a new flavour is rolling out in the United States with some packets already being spotted across stores. Australian mint-chocolate lovers, meanwhile, will be hoping strong sales convince Mars it’s worth bringing something similar down under.
Building on the success of M&M’s Crunchy Cookie, which launched in the US in 2022, the new M&M’s Mint Crunchy Cookie adds another crunchy variety to the lineup. Each piece features a crispy cookie centre surrounded by a combination of milk chocolate and cool mint, all wrapped in the signature hard candy shell.
Sold exclusively at Walmart stores and on Walmarts online website.
There is no word yet on an Australian launch. Australia already has its own locally made Crunchy Cookie, so the production capability may exist, but this mint version remains locked to US Walmart shelves for now. Strong performance in the United States could increase the chances of it (or a local adaptation) eventually appearing at Coles, Woolworths or convenience stores.
Until then, the regular Crunchy Cookie is available nationwide for anyone needing a crunch fix while waiting and hoping.
If the flavour does reach Australia, the usual scramble that greets limited M&M’s drops can be expected. In the meantime, import candy shops may be worth watching and Australian fans will be hoping the US release leaves room for demand on this side of the world.
