An 18‑year‑old man has died in hospital following a single‑vehicle crash at Pelaw Main, two kilometres south of Kurri Kurri. Emergency services were called to Leggetts Drive about 3:45pm on Tuesday after reports a vehicle had collided with a power pole.
Paramedics treated the driver at the scene before he was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition. Police confirmed the teenager died in hospital on Sunday morning.
Officers from Hunter Valley Police District have commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
