Singleton Council and its mayor, Sue Moore, were among the winners at the 2026 Ministers’ Awards for Women in Local Government, held at Parliament House and jointly hosted by Minister for Local Government Ron Hoenig and Minister for Women Jodie Harrison.
Singleton Council won the Excellence in Gender Equity Award, while Cr Moore received the Councillor Lilliane Brady OAM Award.
A record 188 nominations were received this year, with two-thirds coming from rural and regional councils.
Now in their 19th year, the awards recognise the contribution of women at every level of local government, from trainees and frontline staff to senior executives, councillors and mayors. Nineteen awards were presented to women working and serving in councils across the state.
