Sculptural tribute to mark the end of an era

A circular bench designed as a place of contemplation, has been unveiled at Muswellbrook Library.

Artist Will Maguire created the unique sculptural seat, ‘a legacy of light and dark’ to mark the closure of the Liddell Power Station in 2023.

Featuring reworked pieces from Liddell, the bench portrays the station and the process of electricity.

Commissioned by Arts Upper Hunter, the artist says the bench represents the industrial bones of hard work and is now a place to rest and reflect.
