Scone Local Court has been told a man had consumed ten full-strength cans of beer over three hours when he was arrested for drink driving.

It was the second time Solomon Oli had been busted driving under the influence. He was also disqualified from driving when pulled over by police on Main Street in the town on March 11.

Magistrate Kevin Hockey read the riot act to the 37-year-old married father of two on a working visa from the Solomon Islands.

He told Oli his actions showed total disregard for the court and he could be facing 12 months in jail because it was his second offence.

Magistrate Hockey instead jailed the abattoir worker for nine months, to be served as an intensive corrections order and disqualified him from getting behind the wheel for an extra two years.
