The Upper Hunter Shire Mayor said he always thought the Local Government Minister wouldn’t accept a call by ratepayers to sack the council and appoint an administrator.
Ron Hoenig has formally responded to a petition by Moonan resident Patrica Taylor calling for the move over the council’s financial predicament. The petition collected 1201 signatures.
The Minister instead this week chosen to keep a watching brief on the situation for the time being.
