A man has been charged over an alleged multi‑million‑dollar fraud following a lengthy investigation in the Hunter Valley.
In 2024, detectives attached to Hunter Valley Police District established Strike Force Noolinga, with assistance from the State Crime Command’s Forensic Accounting Unit, to investigate reports of fraudulent activity involving a 34‑year‑old man.
Police will allege the man used a business to dishonestly obtain more than $7 million in investments between February and June 2022.
The man was arrested yesterday at Muswellbrook Police Station and charged with eight counts of dishonestly obtaining a financial advantage by deception.
He was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court 2 yesterday. Investigations under Strike Force Noolinga are continuing.
