The Hunter community is being urged to support one of its own as NSW Police Inspector Amy Scott faces a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer.
Amy grew up in Cessnock, attending Cessnock East Public School and Cessnock High School before working at cellar doors across Hunter Valley Wine Country. She later joined the NSW Police Force and became known nationally for her bravery during the Westfield Bondi Junction stabbing in 2024, where her actions saved lives.
Away from the uniform, Amy is a loving wife and mum to two young boys. A fundraiser has been launched to help ease financial pressure on her family so they can focus on treatment and time together.
Organisers say any contribution, big or small, will make a difference. So far more than $400,000 has been raised.
