The State Government is set to review the funding model used for Upper Hunter councils.
A draft terms of reference for the review have been placed on public exhibition until March 15.
Local Government Minister Ron Hoenig said the financial sustainability of councils is one of the most significant issues facing local government.

The announcement comes in light of the Upper Hunter Shire Council’s massive debt and questions over its financial management.
