Council has formally resolved to transition Gummun Place Hostel away from residential aged care, confirming a new lease arrangement and a planned exit from service delivery by April next year.
At its latest meeting, council voted to accept an offer from a provider to lease Gummun Place as a licensed assisted boarding house, supported by home care services. The decision includes delegating authority to the General Manager to execute the lease and manage all related functions.
Council also confirmed its intention to cease operating Gummun Place as a residential aged care facility by 30 April 2026, and to apply to the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission to revoke its registration as an aged care provider.
The name of the successful provider will be publicly announced once lease negotiations are finalised.
