A young child has been airlifted from Muswellbrook Hospital to the John Hunter Children’s Hospital following a late‑night medical emergency. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance about 10:15pm on Thursday.
Hospital staff worked with a John Hunter retrieval team to stabilise the child before the flight. The helicopter then transported the patient to Newcastle for specialist paediatric care.
No further details about the child’s medical condition have been released.
