Cessnock Road Reopens After Alleged Stabbing

All westbound lanes of Cessnock Road have reopened at Neath after an earlier two car crash. The road had been closed to westbound traffic between Fisher Street and Neath Road.

It follows a police investigation after a man presented with stab wounds at Cessnock Station around 4:40am this morning. It’s alleged the man was driving on Cessnock road when he collided with a Subaru, following the crash a passenger from the Subaru stabbed him in the leg.

Shortly after police were called to Cessnock Road, Neath, following reports of a two-vehicle crash involving the same Subaru. Police arrested the 34-year-old driver and placed him under guard at John Hunter Hospital.
