NSW Breakers and Sydney Sixers all‑rounder Caoimhe Bray has been recognised as one of the brightest young talents in Australian cricket, taking out the Betty Wilson Young Cricketer of the Year at the 2026 Australian Cricket Awards. The Denman teen’s performances across multiple formats between December 2024 and December 2025 earned her the accolade.

16-year-old Bray made eight WNCL appearances and played nine matches for the Sixers in the WBBL, as well as taking part in the T20 Spring Challenge. One of her standout moments came during the first WBBL|11 Sydney Smash, where she delivered figures of 4‑15, including a hat‑trick against the Sydney Thunder.

She becomes only the second NSW‑based player to receive the award, following Hannah Darlington in 2021.

Cricket NSW Head of Female Cricket Leah Poulton said Bray had already made a strong impression both on and off the field.

“Caoimhe has made an outstanding start to her career with the Sixers and the Breakers,” she said.

“She has demonstrated tremendous skill and potential with both bat and ball and is clearly a player with a very bright future ahead of her.

“Most importantly, Caoimhe is a fantastic team person. She brings an incredible energy to every group she’s part of, bringing out the best in those around her. We congratulate Caoimhe on receiving this award and look forward to seeing her back on the park soon.”
