The Minns Government is under fire this morning for its so-called lack of preparedness as hot, dry weather tightens the grip of drought in the Upper Hunter.
The government told parliament….meetings have begun within various agencies and the public service has been briefed in response to questions from the Opposition.
Upper Hunter MP Dave Layzell said this is simply not good enough and local farmers deserve more attention from Macquarie Street.
Parts of the region have been experiencing dry conditions for 12 months now with some hand-feeding animals since the start of this year.
The Minister has received several invitations to visit the Upper Hunter since taking office in March but so far has not agreed to visit.
