A man will face court next month charged with high range PCA following an incident at Branxton on Tuesday night.
About 9.15pm on Tuesday, September 1, police were called to Devon Street, Branxton, following reports of an intoxicated driver. At the scene, police were told a small SUV had side-swiped a hatchback on the New England Highway at Branxton, before the driver of the SUV continued to Devon Street, where he pulled over.
Highway Patrol officers attended a short time later and conducted a roadside breath test on the SUV driver, which allegedly returned a positive result. The 33-year-old man was arrested and taken to Maitland Police Station, where he returned a positive breath analysis of 0.335, more than six times the legal limit.
The man’s licence was suspended, and he was issued a court attendance notice for drive with high range PCA, a second offence. He is due to appear before Singleton Local Court on Thursday, October 29.
