Detectives are appealing for information as an investigation continues into a robbery at a Muswellbrook bottle shop earlier this year.
Police were called to the business, on the corner of Maitland Road and Sydney Street, about 10pm on Friday, 22 May 2026. They were told three people forced entry to the store and assaulted an employee before stealing alcohol. Officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District established a crime scene and began an investigation.
Following extensive inquiries, police arrested a 17-year-old boy at Muswellbrook Police Station on Monday, 25 May 2026. He was charged with robbery in company, along with ten other offences including break and enter, stealing a motor vehicle, driving a conveyance without consent, damaging property and disguising his face with intent to commit an indictable offence.
He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court that day, and was later granted conditional bail. He is next due to appear before a children’s court on Tuesday, 15 September 2026.
As inquiries continue, detectives have released CCTV images of a woman who may be able to assist police, described as wearing a dark-coloured hoodie, black pants and white sneakers. Investigators have also released footage of a black Holden Cruze sedan seen in the area at the time of the incident.
Anyone able to identify the woman, the vehicle or its occupants is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
