Scone and Murrurundi will be amongst towns to have improved access to government services with the rollout of a new fleet of Service NSW Mobile Service Centres. Four new four‑wheel‑drive vehicles will replace the current fleet, which has reached the end of its life after travelling more than one million kilometres and assisting more than 70,000 people across the state.

The new mobile centres will offer more than 1,300 NSW Government services, including driver licence renewals, vehicle transactions, Working with Children Checks, Seniors Card applications and cost‑of‑living support. Each vehicle includes “branch‑in‑a‑box” technology, allowing customer terminals to operate independently outside the truck where access or terrain makes it difficult to set up normally.

The four‑wheel‑drive capability also means the fleet can be rapidly deployed to disaster‑affected communities, playing a key role in delivering emergency grants and recovery support. Service NSW says the mobile fleet will continue to operate on its nine‑week circuit, which includes stops in and around the Hunter.

The fleet also includes the dedicated “Kangaroo Bus”, which visits more than 40 Aboriginal communities and provides access to staff from Revenue NSW, Births, Deaths and Marriages and the Business Bureau.

Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government Jihad Dib said the upgrades ensure regional communities do not miss out on essential services.

“Mobile Service Centres play a critical role in making sure people in regional and remote communities can access essential services without having to travel out of their local area,” he said.
