Not very Watermelon Sugar of you Harry.
Last week the international musical phenomenon, Harry Styles, announced his fourth studio album and his upcoming tour of Australia. It didn’t take long though for fans to find something to spoil their excitement of the news. Presale tickets for his upcoming tour in the US went on sale yesterday and many fans have cried out over the prices to see the former One Directioner live, which now has Aussies worried about the prices for the Australian leg of his world tour.
Fans trying to jump in on the presale for his upcoming show in New York were met with the unfortunate news that ticket prices will vary between $50 – $1,182.40 (USD). Which if you’re Australian equals to $72.31 – $1,710.03. Turns out those tickets costing up towards $1000 don’t include some form of extra privileges or meet and greet, they are indeed just seating. This saw thousands of fans take to social media to call out Styles greed on charging people for seats that exceed many peoples monthly rent. Which, to be fair, $1,710.03 is far more than my own monthly rent.
Fans have protested saying they expect the popular singer to lose many fans. Making jokes that the few $50 tickets available were actually for the carpark, and that no sane person in the current US economy could justify spending upwards of $1000 on a single 2-hour concert.
Presale tickets for the Australian leg of Harry Styles upcoming world tour go live on the 29th of January at 11am.
