The community is this week invited to find out more about the progress of road upgrades to facilitate the construction of Renewable Energy Zones.
The NSW Government is investing in upgrades to the State Road network to enable the movement of oversize and/or overmass (OSOM) loads from the Port of Newcastle to Renewable Energy Zones (REZ).
BMD Constructions was awarded the contract to build upgrades at 19 locations along the 320-kilometre route from the Port of Newcastle to the Central-West Orana REZ.
Work is underway at several locations along the route, including Jerrys Plains.
Representatives from Transport, EnergyCo and BMD will staff a community information session at Jerrys Plains School of Arts Hall on Thursday 3 July, from 5pm to 7pm.
Talk to the team and learn about:
- Work scheduled to take place in Jerrys Plains in the coming months.
- Port to REZ site office locations in Birriwa and Newcastle.
- Upgrades at locations along the route: the project team has maps and diagrams showing the changes at each of the upgrade locations.
- The Hunter Transmission Project corridor: staff from EnergyCo will be available to talk about the transmission project.
