Man buys wife turnips instead of tulips for Valentine's Day

Who says romance is dead?

US man, Allan Harris, is stealing headlines after his latest bid at romance went horribly wrong.

Following a conversation the night before, Allan believed his wife Nina had asked for turnips for Valentines Day.

While many would question such an unusual present on the most romantic day of the year, Allan ordered a lovely bucket full of turnips that he proudly announced had arrived the following day as a special gift for his beautiful wife.

Unfortunately for Allan, Nina had asked for Tulips - not a root vegetable with a similar sounding name - and thanks to the internet the whole world would find out about the whole thing!

They got interviewed on their local TV news and their reactions are brilliant!
