21 track debut album ~how i’m feeling~ set for release on March 6, 2020
SOLD OUT Australian tour kicks off next week
Platinum-certified independent singer, songwriter, producer, and pop visionary Lauv drops new single “Mean It” with LANY. The song is off Lauv’s 21-track debut album, ~how i'm feeling~, set for release on March 6, 2020.
Lauv said on the collaboration, “I started ‘Mean It’ from the perspective of what I thought somebody might want to say to me (I’m not perfect and I’ll be the first to admit it). Paul and I had been talking about working together for a long time, then one day I texted him the idea for the song and it just clicked. So we all got in the studio and had a grand ol’ time finishing the record. I’ve been a fan of LANY for a long time, and I think it’s a perfect blend of our two sounds, so I’m super stoked and honored to have this song together.”
Lauv’s latest single “fuck, i’m lonely” with Anne-Marie has over 200 million streams to date and is now #35 at USA Top 40 radio and rising. The pair performed the song on hit US chat show Late Night With Seth Meyers here. In addition, the track was also included on the current 3rd season of the popular Netflix show 13 Reasons Why, as well as this seasons soundtrack.
Lauv hit the road last month on his "~how i'm feeling world tour~.” He performed 2 stellar sold-out shows at London’s Kentish Town Forum before moving onto Europe. The 19-city sold-out run will also be heading to Australia for a run of SOLD OUT shows and will wrap on November 26th in New Zealand.

LANY (pronounced “Lay-nee”), the LA-based trio comprised of Paul Klein, Les Priest and Jake Goss, crafts alternative melodic music with an R&B spirit. Releasing their first set of songs in 2014 with no social following, fans, or even photos, their take on progressive alt- pop immediately caught the attention of audiences, and within weeks their play counts were leaping exponentially.
Trusting their instincts paid off. Six days later they got an email from a UK record label. “It was so unexpected that I thought it was spam,” Paul laughs. “The next day, other labels emailed. There was only one person I knew who might know if the emails were genuine, and he [Rupert Lincoln] became our manager.” Emails from across the Atlantic took a slightly surreal turn on account of the placeholder image the band had chosen to accompany their SoundCloud: as there weren’t any band photos yet, they had simply used a photo they liked of Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson. “People in Europe thought the photo was of us - LANY,” Paul laughs. “They kept asking: who are you, what are you, where are you, what else have you got?”
Flash-forward to the summer of 2017 and the band’s debut album, LANY, peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart, with singles “ILYSB” and “Super Far” reaching 100+ million streams each. In 2017 alone, the group racked up nearly 300 million streams on Spotify and played more than 135 live shows across 28 countries.
Lauv is not only a pop sensation, but he is creating a new model for a unique breed of music executive in the 21st century. Lauv is one of the most successful independent artists of the past decade. He has eschewed label deals – both major and indie – in order to maintain complete creative control over his music and direct ownership in his success. As a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, he is involved in every aspect of his music’s creation and as owner of his masters, he is equally involved in the business of his music well after the recording session ends.
By betting on his own music, Lauv has been able to reach a mainstream audience with over 3billion streams, global top 10 radio hits and multi-platinum certifications in 15 territories.
Lauv is his own label. Owning his future, Lauv continues to blaze his own trail and show the music industry a new model and artists a new way forward.
