A man has been charged with murdering his wife after her body was found in the family home in Sydney - metres from their sleeping children.
A family friend reportedly went to check on the 33-year-old mother and found her body in the garage of a Minto home at 4am on Sunday.
The body has not been formally identified but a 49-year-old man, understood to be her husband, was arrested at the scene.
The pair's children, aged six and 10, were sleeping in the home and were not physically harmed.
The man was taken to Fairfield Hospital for treatment to cuts to his hand while a crime scene investigation took place.
Family friends mourned her in the street, reportedly describing her as a wonderful mother and pious woman.
The man was later taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with her murder on Sunday evening.
He is expected before Parramatta Bail Court on Monday morning.
