Traffic at Scone will be disrupted to allow for huge girders to be brought through town for the bypass.
Girders weighing 45 tonne and measuring 27 metres will be transported through Scone for parts of the bypass.
There will be changed traffic conditions from tomorrow on the New England Highway with between six and eight bridge girders being transported daily from the project compound north of Scone, travelling along the New England Highway/Kelly Street and Liverpool Street for delivery to the Parsons Gully Bridge alignment that needs 78 girders for the 540 metre long section.
Work will be carried out between 6am and 6pm on weekdays and between 8am and 1pm on Saturdays until July, weather permitting.
Traffic control and vehicle escorts will be in place to minimise disruptions and ensure safety and in a bid to reduce impacts to motorists, vehicle movements will be avoided during morning and afternoon peak traffic periods.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
Roads and Maritime Services thanks motorists for their patience during this time. For the latest traffic updates, download the Live Traffic NSW App, visit livetraffic.com or call 132 701.
