A pilot has been lucky to escape with minor injuries after his plane crashed in Luskintyre near Greta last night.
Emergency services were called to a paddock near Luskintyre Airfield just after 7pm following reports a plane had crash landed.
It's understood the small vintage plane suffered partial engine failure not long after taking off. The pilot, a 66-year-old male, reportedly attempted to fly back to the airfield but instead crash landed in a paddock.
He sustained only minor lacerations.
The 66-year-old was taken to the John Hunter Hospital by road.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau and the Civil Aviation Authority are investigating.
