Planning panel told noise report used recordings of dogs from Sydney's north west

A consultant for Greyhound Racing New South Wales has admitted in a Public Briefing Meeting at Denman, audio of barking dogs used in their noise report attached to a development application, was actually recorded at Richmond in Sydney’s north west.

The admission was made at the event late yesterday organised by the Hunter and Central Coast Planning Panel, who will determine if the project is given the go-ahead or not.

The peak body for greyhound racing wants to construct and operate a 400 kennel retraining centre at Martindale.

The revelation came after multiple presentations from local residents opposed to the D-A, who claim it contains a large number of factual errors.

Michael Neville, who’s property borders the proposed site, said this is just one of numerous flaws in the documentation submitted to Muswellbrook Shire Council.

The Panel was also told the development application should never made it past Muswellbrook Shire Council because the current zoning doesn’t match the intended use.

20 people attended the meeting.

*** An earlier version of this article referred to an individual who supported the proposal. We have been advised that this information was not correct and we apologise to the person concerned.”
