Upper Hunter weekend sports wrap


The Muswellbrook Cats season is continuing in an upward trajectory after clocking up over 200 points on Saturday over Maitland at Weeraman Field.

The Cats winning 33-17-217 to 1-1-7.

Scone has continued their trend of notching up half a century of points in Group 21.

The Thoroughbreds beating Muswellbrook 52-points-to-12 on Saturday night at Scone Park.

Greta Branxton are back on the winners list defeating Aberdeen 26-16.

Denman has won the Allen Cox Memorial Shield over Singleton at Denman Oval.

The Devils beating the Greyhounds 42-32.

Allan’s siblings Julie & Stephen we’re on hand to present the shield to captain coach Liam Foran.

Knights coach Adam O’Brien said his focus is in their next game against the Roosters rather than worrying about making the finals.

The Knights on the end of another loss over the weekend, this time at the hands of Manly, 42-12.

O’Brien said he thought it was a better performance than the previous game against South Sydney.

Another weekend of frustration for our local football clubs.

Scone, Muswellbrook and Singleton’s games all washed out.

This adds another mid week catch up to the draw as the finals draw nearer.
