The privacy breach by Muswellbrook Shire Council over the proposed 33-million greyhound retraining centre at Martindale has gone from bad to worse.
The Hunter Valley Newsroom revealed yesterday that council staff had posted the personal details of a number of opponents to the project on their website.
It was included in one of 36 documents attached to the updated D-A submitted by Greyhound Racing New South Wales, which is now subject to a community consultation process.
Council sent out an email notification after our story yesterday about the process to those who had previously made a formal submission on the issue.
This morning we can reveal this was followed by a bulk email that had a spreadsheet attached featuring personal details again, but this time for 680 people.
One of those people, Martindale resident Michael Neville said he’s appalled by council’s carelessness.
