Catholic schools in the Upper Hunter will become just babysitters for the day this Friday with teachers set to strike for 24 hours.
The private school teachers will walk off the job to attend a protest rally down in Newcastle over the latest pay offer from the Archdiocese and staff shortages in the region.
Therese Fitzgibbon from the Independent Education Union said while they regret causing issues for the day, student learning is being disrupted in the Upper Hunter every day.
Supervision arrangements will be in place for Friday for students who are not able to stay home.
