Sewage Surveillance is coming to Aberdeen, Merriwa and Murrurundi after a few months of community outcry.
The Upper Hunter Shire Council is welcoming a NSW Health decision to add an additional three sewage surveillance points for COVID-19.
Aberdeen, Merriwa and Murrurundi will be tested from Monday, October 18 with samples collected weekly and sent to NSW Health for analysis.
The results of the sewage testing will be released on NSW Health’s website and council has confirmed they will inform the community in instances of any positive traces of COVID-19.
