The Samaritans Christmas Lunch will go ahead as usual this festive season due to the relaxing of coronavirus restrictions.
The Singleton tradition will be held at the Showground on Christmas Day between 11am-1pm.
Hampers will be available with food, drinks and gifts which can be collected from the bistro under the grandstand.
This year, the Samaritans are also providing picnic blankets so residents can enjoy a Christmas picnic on the adjacent lawn underneath the shady trees.
Singleton councillors have unanimously supported a Mayoral Minute by Cr Sue Moore to donate $600 to the Samaritans Christmas Lunch, which will this year provide hampers containing a picnic blankets
It follows after last year's adjustments where of the 'Express Lunch Pick Up' event, where no seating or clustering was permitted.
Cr Moore is excited to see the festivities resume and bring the community together again at the merriest time of the year.
“On behalf of our community, I am pleased to continue to support and facilitate the Samaritans Christmas Lunch in Singleton, to deliver a merry Christmas to those residents who have no family nearby, are lonely, have limited financial resources or are homeless.
“I also actively encourage other businesses and organisations to support this event because of the benefit to those people who need it most in this most happy of times," she said.
