That’s how popular Councillor Elizabeth Flaherty has described her sudden sacking from Upper Hunter Shire Council.
Councillor Flaherty said she received an email out of the blue from General Manager Greg McDonald yesterday informing her of the decision.

The sudden move follows a long history of antagonism between Councillor Flaherty, other councillors and the GM including bullying complaints.
It also comes five months out from the council elections in September.
