A court case launched by Upper Hunter Shire Council has fallen over after their lawyers failed to turn up to court.
The council had charged Blandford resident Chris Richards last year over the alleged disposal of asbestos waste at his property.
But we can reveal when the matter was listed in Scone Local Court..Magistrate Kevin Hockey was forced to dismiss the case after the no-show.
Not even anyone from the council across the road turned up.
The council refused to tell us how much ratepayers money was wasted on the case and why someone couldn’t literally walk across the road to the court.
In response to our questions, a spokesperson told us “Council is dealing with a number of separate matters involving Mr Richards and will not be discussing these with the media.”
