Upper Hunter Shire candidate Tayah Clout has rejected an accusation she submitted misleading information on her nomination form for the Council election this Saturday.
We can reveal this morning a formal complaint has been lodged with the New South Wales Electoral Commission claiming Ms Clout lives on a property with her partner in Denman, not at Kars Springs as she wrote on the paperwork.
The 34-year-old has told the Hunter Valley Newsroom…while she does cross shire borders for work like many locals do, she definitely lives at Kars Springs.
It is not against the law to live outside the Shire you have nominated to stand in but it is a breach of the law to submit false information.
