What a difference a protest makes.
Yesterday we published a news story on former Mt Arthur dump truck driver Nicky Redgrove staging a lone protest outside the mine entrance over a three-month delay to receiving a workers compo payout.
It’s the second time Nicky has taken the drastic measure since being permanently injured while re-fuellng a truck five years ago.
But just hours after our story was published and questions asked to BHP…the company told us they are in contact with Ms Redgrove’s lawyers about the payment of settlement funds.
BHP said they apologise for the delay and impact of this on Ms Redgrove.
But Nicky said she will continue to stage her protest outside her former workplace until the payout is in her bank account.
