Here at The Scone Collective we, like nearly everyone these days, are wondering what we can do to help the drought affected families in our area and country.
In many of these families, it is the wife, mother, daughters who take on the responsibility of trying to keep their households, husbands, children and fathers going. They are the ones who sacrifice their needs above that of others.
An amazing initiative, Ladies of the Land NSW, have started a campaign to collate pamper boxes to distribute to these incredible women.
As with many, this close to my heart. As the daughter of a woman who was on the land and gave up so much to support our family, I would like to do all I can to give back.
So the premise is to fill a shoebox with items to pamper these women. Whether it be a luxury magazine, beauty products, specialty items such as teas/coffees, small jewellery items, handmade bits and pieces...the list is endless. If you think it is a pamper item, it can be added.
Now I also know that it is tough for everyone and they may not be able to complete a whole box. This is where The Scone Collective comes in. Three baskets have been placed at the three drop off points in Scone, Tea of Life Scone, Asser House Cafe and The Buttered Scone.
We at The Scone Collective will be collecting items and making up boxes for distribution. Until we open on 2nd December, you can deliver items to one of those three cafes.
It is my hope that our Collective peeps can help out a little. Each item bought will go out to a lady on the land, at the time of year when things can seem so hard.
If you would like any further information or would like to drop off to me personally, please contact me on 0408 203 393.
Thank you all
Stay Collective as always
